Imogen Harvey-Lewis

I am a freelance artist and illustrator.

I work a tight ship of design and drawing combining commercial, private and personal commissions with a passion for the extension and consolidation of my personal creative practice.

Drawing is my go to for pleasure, situation sorting and work. I am self taught.

I draw because I love it.

I draw each day.

I have a favourite pencil.

I approach each challenge with an honest eyes-open methodology which translates drawings into solid, versatile and usable graphics. My passion for concise and beautiful design, maintains a streamlined logic that underpins my clear aesthetic. My graphic style is honed, honest and direct.

Communication is the key to effective illustration. My fundamental grasp of this enables me to stay clearly on track with a unique signature style, and to deliver a clear message and pleasing visual outcome to each and every piece of work I undertake.

My personal drawing, which feeds into most of my commission work, is focused around the human condition. Each drawing pretty much a self-portrait of the everyman, feeling their feelings, expressing their emotions, being real.

I specialise in capturing the nuances of body language, situation and emotion, and translate these into a strong graphic art with impeccable line work, strong composition and innate playfulness.

My work is confident: born out of many years experience, a realisation of my genuine and original voice, and a belief in what I can do.
