Jenny has exhibited locally and nationally in group shows and solo exhibitions, and has exhibited in The Mall Galleries London at The Pastel Society and The New English Art club Annual exhibitions, taken part in a number of Stuckist shows, and The Discerning Eye exhibition for the ‘Ing Foundation’. She belongs to The Cheltenham Group of Artists, a group of professional artists who have been around for more than a hundred years.
Jenny makes quite large abstract paintings in oils, mixed media and pastel. Her work is intuitive and unplanned, growing from the initial marks and colours, adding anything new alters the balance and determines what comes next, and she is interested in what one shape / colour does next to another. There are lots of layers & edits which often makes the work quite textured.
While working, Jenny often listens to music. The theme tunes of her youth, or something fresh and new have a real effect on the painting. The surrounding objects and the components of her everyday life are reinvented and subsumed into the abstraction, constantly seeking a balance right across the surface, and she sets out to make work that is beautiful, strong and unique.
